Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.
They went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
and Beriah, and Shema, who were heads of fathers’ households of the inhabitants of Aijalon, who put to flight the inhabitants of Gath;
The father of Gibeon, whose wife’s name was Maacah, lived in Gibeon,
and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.
Adoraim, Lachish, Azekah,
Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.
The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the lowland, and of the South of Judah, and had taken Beth Shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Soco with its villages, Timnah with its villages, and also Gimzo and its villages; and they lived there.
Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the valley gate. They built it, and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars, and one thousand cubits of the wall to the dung gate.

I will yet bring to you, inhabitant of Mareshah. He who is the glory of Israel will come to Adullam.
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, being small among the clans of Judah, out of you one will come out to me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings out are from of old, from ancient times.
For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
