“If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.
For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.
Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.
But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood.
“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things.
She lay at his feet until the morning, then she rose up before one could discern another. For he said, “Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor.”
The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.
Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus,
having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.
In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word,
He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.
Therefore if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forever more, that I don’t cause my brother to stumble.
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Haven’t I seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? Aren’t you my work in the Lord?
To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.
even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake,
We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,
Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.
I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, and give no occasion to the adversary for insulting.
Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
“Keep far from a false charge, and don’t kill the innocent and righteous; for I will not justify the wicked.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil—
Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad, enlarge the fringes of their garments,
He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!
I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
Now I stand here to be judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers,
I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.
For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the offspring, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all.
See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.
For as you in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling.
Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.
For if a man sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol’s temple, won’t his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.
Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
What, don’t you have houses to eat and to drink in? Or do you despise God’s assembly and put them to shame who don’t have enough? What shall I tell you? Shall I praise you? In this I don’t praise you.
that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing.
(but how could someone who doesn’t know how to rule one’s own house take care of God’s assembly?)
but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
and take double money in your hand, and take back the money that was returned in the mouth of your sacks. Perhaps it was an oversight.
“ ‘You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind; but you shall fear your God. I am Yahweh.
he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink. He shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of fermented drink, neither shall he drink any juice of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or dried.
I thought I should tell you, saying, ‘Buy it before those who sit here, and before the elders of my people.’ If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know. For there is no one to redeem it besides you; and I am after you.” He said, “I will redeem it.”
He said, “Do it a second time;” and they did it the second time. He said, “Do it a third time;” and they did it the third time.
I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God. I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
But Yahweh’s loving kindness is from everlasting to everlasting with those who fear him, his righteousness to children’s children,
Strengthen the weak hands, and make the feeble knees firm.
Now Yahweh, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him, and to gather Israel to him, for I am honorable in Yahweh’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.
and I delivered the deed of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the presence of Hanamel my uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of the purchase, before all the Jews who sat in the court of the guard.
He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us a great evil; for under the whole sky, such has not been done as has been done to Jerusalem.
Yahweh my God says: “Feed the flock of slaughter.
After the two days he went out from there and went into Galilee.
So he called them in and provided a place to stay. On the next day Peter arose and went out with them, and some of the brothers from Joppa accompanied him.
For you have brought these men here, who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of your goddess.
For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time; that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.
But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
Give no occasion for stumbling, whether to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;
God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we are as reprobate.
so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,
Abstain from every form of evil.
Let as many as are bondservants under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the doctrine not be blasphemed.
Now I say that Christ has been made a servant of the circumcision for the truth of God, that he might confirm the promises given to the fathers,
