Hebrew Text— 1 Kings 22:32When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “Surely that is the king of Israel!” and they came over to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.

Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers;
Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”
“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress.
You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.
“Therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.’ But now Yahweh says, ‘Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed.
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah.”
I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say, ‘It is my people;’ and they will say, ‘Yahweh is my God.’ ”
“But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,
In my distress I called on Yahweh, and cried to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry before him came into his ears.
You who fear Yahweh, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, glorify him! Stand in awe of him, all you descendants of Israel!
Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, he saves them out of their distresses.
Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.
The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise.
You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
‘Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you don’t know.’
Yahweh, I cry to you, For the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them.
When they cried out to Yahweh, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea on them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt. You lived in the wilderness many days.
“You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea,
You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You will pay your vows.
He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
In the day of my trouble I will call on you, for you will answer me.
Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can’t be moved, but remains forever.
But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praises.
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues,
David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “If I pursue after this troop, will I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue; for you will surely overtake them, and will without fail recover all.”
When Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to Yahweh, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
Then Eliezer the son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, “Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, Yahweh has destroyed your works.” The ships were wrecked, so that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.
I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.
Who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?
I cry to Yahweh with my voice, and he answers me out of his holy hill.
Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Yahweh, have not forsaken those who seek you.
For in the day of trouble, he will keep me secretly in his pavilion. In the secret place of his tabernacle, he will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock.
The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
Yahweh helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked and saves them, because they have taken refuge in him.
Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses,
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.
Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
You hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?
But I will deliver you in that day,” says Yahweh; “and you will not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.
Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”
Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
While he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”
Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
Jesus said to him, “Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
“In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.
When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.
There was no day like that before it or after it, that Yahweh listened to the voice of a man; for Yahweh fought for Israel.
Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time because Yahweh, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.
For many fell slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the rooms of death.
One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
Then you will call, and Yahweh will answer. You will cry for help, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away from among you the yoke, finger pointing, and speaking wickedly;
It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don’t seek the glory that comes from the only God?
for they loved men’s praise more than God’s praise.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.
who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.
He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.
When Pharaoh came near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were very afraid. The children of Israel cried out to Yahweh.
They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he answered them, because they put their trust in him.
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and Yahweh helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord. My hand was stretched out in the night, and didn’t get tired. My soul refused to be comforted.
He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
