Greek Text— 1 Thessalonians 2:9For you remember, brothers, our labor and travail; for working night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preached to you the Good News of God.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against Yahweh in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.
But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.
But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.
For God’s Kingdom is not in word, but in power.
But I rejoice in the Lord greatly, that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity.
To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire of goodness and work of faith with power,
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, teaching you publicly and from house to house,
I coveted no one’s silver, gold, or clothing.
Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.
who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
“I know your works, your love, faith, service, patient endurance, and that your last works are more than the first.
They cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, Master, the holy and true, until you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
But if you will not hear it, my soul will weep in secret for your pride. My eye will weep bitterly, and run down with tears, because Yahweh’s flock has been taken captive.
and because he practiced the same trade, he lived with them and worked, for by trade they were tent makers.
This continued for two years, so that all those who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Haven’t I seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? Aren’t you my work in the Lord?
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.
Truly the signs of an apostle were worked among you in all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty works.
For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray for this: your becoming perfect.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds,
Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness,
Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
Therefore I said, “Look away from me. I will weep bitterly. Don’t labor to comfort me for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. I have appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
I don’t receive glory from men.
He entered into the synagogue and spoke boldly for a period of three months, reasoning and persuading about the things concerning God’s Kingdom.
Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, “Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”
But this I confess to you, that after the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the law, and which are written in the prophets;
When I was present with you and was in need, I wasn’t a burden on anyone, for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, supplied the measure of my need. In everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and I will continue to do so.
neither did we eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you,
who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony in its own times,
For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls, as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with groaning, for that would be unprofitable for you.
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.
For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.
Daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation, for the destroyer will suddenly come on us.
bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.
Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.
Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Or have only Barnabas and I no right to not work?
For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.
You will eat bread by the sweat of your face until you return to the ground, for you were taken out of it. For you are dust, and you shall return to dust.”
Please let us go to the Jordan, and each man take a beam from there, and let’s make us a place there, where we may live.” He answered, “Go!”
But the former governors who were before me were supported by the people, and took bread and wine from them, plus forty shekels of silver; yes, even their servants ruled over the people; but I didn’t do so, because of the fear of God.
Now that which was prepared for one day was one ox and six choice sheep. Also fowls were prepared for me, and once in ten days a store of all sorts of wine. Yet for all this, I didn’t demand the governor’s pay, because the bondage was heavy on this people.
For day and night your hand was heavy on me. My strength was sapped in the heat of summer.
Yahweh, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
I have seen the burden which God has given to the sons of men to be afflicted with.
Oh that my head were waters, and my eyes a spring of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.
Then he said to them, “The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that he may send out laborers into his harvest.
Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
Simon Peter said to them, “I’m going fishing.” They told him, “We are also coming with you.” They immediately went out, and entered into the boat. That night, they caught nothing.
But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.
You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,
that I should be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of the Good News of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of God’s Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and around as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Good News of Christ;
We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.
Have we no right to eat and to drink?
But I have used none of these things, and I don’t write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void.
What then is my reward? That when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.
that you also be in subjection to such, and to everyone who helps in the work and labors.
in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;
Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached to you God’s Good News free of charge?
For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to my need.
for which I also labor, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.
remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.
nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others), when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.
But when Timothy came just now to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you,
night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
Now she who is a widow indeed and desolate, has her hope set on God, and continues in petitions and prayers night and day.
I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day
To them it was revealed, that they served not to themselves, but to you, in these things, which now have been announced to you through those who preached the Good News to you by the Holy Spirit sent out from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
You have perseverance and have endured for my name’s sake, and have not grown weary.
The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!”
but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night.
But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,
Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
