Hebrew Text— 2 Chronicles 18:33A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn your hand, and carry me out of the army; for I am severely wounded.”

Have I today begun to inquire of God for him? Be it far from me! Don’t let the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for your servant knows nothing of all this, less or more.”
Didn’t he tell me, ‘She is my sister’? She, even she herself, said, ‘He is my brother.’ I have done this in the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands.”
The archers have severely grieved him, shot at him, and persecuted him:
Call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do. You shall anoint to me him whom I name to you.”
Two hundred men went with Absalom out of Jerusalem, who were invited, and went in their simplicity; and they didn’t know anything.
King Joram returned to be healed in Jezreel from the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
The archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, “Take me away, because I am seriously wounded!”
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.
“Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
