Now after Amaziah had come from the slaughter of the Edomites, he brought the gods of the children of Seir, and set them up to be his gods, and bowed down himself before them, and burned incense to them.
Joash did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them, “Why don’t you repair the damage to the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for repair of the damage to the house.”
He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, yet not like David his father. He did according to all that Joash his father had done.

Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. He didn’t do that which was right in Yahweh his God’s eyes, like David his father.

We have dealt very corruptly against you, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the ordinances, which you commanded your servant Moses.
For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant.
Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed.
My flesh trembles for fear of you. I am afraid of your judgments.
Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.
The Lord said, “Because this people draws near with their mouth and honors me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which has been taught;
and said, “Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.
You had now turned, and had done that which is right in my eyes, in every man proclaiming liberty to his neighbor. You had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name;
Their heart is divided. Now they will be found guilty. He will demolish their altars. He will destroy their sacred stones.
The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
None of the rest dared to join them, however the people honored them.
You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.
But I say that so long as the heir is a child, he is no different from a bondservant, though he is lord of all,
He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.
He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father.
