Give thanks to Yahweh with the lyre. Sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.
Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
Our soul has waited for Yahweh. He is our help and our shield.
From the rising of the sun to its going down, Yahweh’s name is to be praised.
I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My soul will be joyful in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
I clothed you also with embroidered work, and put sealskin sandals on you. I dressed you with fine linen and covered you with silk.
“Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God. I am Yahweh your God.”
“The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, the Mighty One, God, Yahweh, he knows; and Israel shall know: if it was in rebellion, or if in trespass against Yahweh (don’t save us today),
Jephthah came to Mizpah to his house; and behold, his daughter came out to meet him with tambourines and with dances. She was his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter.
David and all the house of Israel played before Yahweh with all kinds of instruments made of cypress wood, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with castanets, and with cymbals.
King David was told, “Yahweh has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that belongs to him, because of God’s ark.” So David went and brought up God’s ark from the house of Obed-Edom into David’s city with joy.
David spoke to the chief of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers with instruments of music, stringed instruments, harps, and cymbals, sounding aloud and lifting up their voices with joy.
Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, blew the trumpets before God’s ark; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah were doorkeepers for the ark.
Thus all Israel brought the ark of Yahweh’s covenant up with shouting, with sound of the cornet, with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding aloud with stringed instruments and harps.
with Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually, before the ark of the covenant of God.
Moreover, David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. The number of those who did the work according to their service was:
He appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests to their service, and the Levites to their offices, to praise and to minister before the priests, as the duty of every day required; the doorkeepers also by their divisions at every gate, for David the man of God had so commanded.
The Levites stood with David’s instruments, and the priests with the trumpets.
My God, I cry in the daytime, but you don’t answer; in the night season, and am not silent.
Yes, no one who waits for you will be shamed. They will be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.
Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long.
But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
Praise waits for you, God, in Zion. Vows shall be performed to you.
I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word.
Praise him with tambourine and dancing! Praise him with stringed instruments and flute!
His clothing became glistening, exceedingly white, like snow, such as no launderer on earth can whiten them.
Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
And among the lamp stands was one like a son of man, clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest.
The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen.
Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand; and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.
You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.
As they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tambourines, with joy, and with instruments of music.
When David rose up in the morning, Yahweh’s word came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,
The sons of Samuel: the firstborn, Joel, and the second, Abijah.
So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers, Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;
and of the sons of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeuel; and of the sons of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;
At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with giving thanks, and with singing, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and with harps.
Don’t hide your face from me. Don’t put your servant away in anger. You have been my help. Don’t abandon me, neither forsake me, God of my salvation.
You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness,
Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, the God of my salvation. My tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
The Lord announced the word. The ones who proclaim it are a great company.
Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, the pleasant lyre with the harp.
My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to Yahweh, our God, until he has mercy on us.
Let your priests be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet! Praise him with harp and lyre!
Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust, and will not be afraid; for Yah, Yahweh, is my strength and song; and he has become my salvation.”
but those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
“ ‘ “It will be that, when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments. No wool shall come on them while they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.
Listen now to what Yahweh says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.
But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man who didn’t have on wedding clothing,
While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
While they were looking steadfastly into the sky as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white clothing,
even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for its lusts.
Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.
I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.
I saw another great and marvelous sign in the sky: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them God’s wrath is finished.
“The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. This shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations.
David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the souls of all the people were grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters; but David strengthened himself in Yahweh his God.
The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara; five of them in all.
These are those who served, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
His brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,
Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with stringed instruments and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;
and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Yahweh, because his loving kindness endures forever;
four thousand were doorkeepers, and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made for giving praise.”
even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times per year, during the feast of unleavened bread, during the feast of weeks, and during the feast of booths.
He set the Levites in Yahweh’s house with cymbals, with stringed instruments, and with harps, according to the commandment of David, of Gad the king’s seer, and Nathan the prophet; for the commandment was from Yahweh by his prophets.
and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, who was the chief to begin the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among his brothers; and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun.
Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh.
I said, “I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”
I waited patiently for Yahweh. He turned to me, and heard my cry.
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity. There is no one who does good.
He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken.
The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, among the ladies playing with tambourines,
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and for him to listen to me.
You show loving kindness to thousands, and repay the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them. The great, the mighty God, Yahweh of Armies is your name:
Doesn’t evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
“Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.
David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, with harps, with stringed instruments, with tambourines, with cymbals, and with trumpets.
David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah the choir master with the singers; and David had an ephod of linen on him.
and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers’ households of the children of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh’s covenant out of David’s city, which is Zion.
The priests stood, according to their positions; the Levites also with instruments of music of Yahweh, which David the king had made to give thanks to Yahweh, when David praised by their ministry, saying “For his loving kindness endures forever.” The priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.
and some of the priests’ sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shemaiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micaiah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Asaph;
The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.
My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.
Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.
Yahweh, the God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before you.
with the ten-stringed lute, with the harp, and with the melody of the lyre.
Let them praise his name in the dance! Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp!
and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
The seven angels who had the seven plagues came out, clothed with pure, bright linen, and wearing golden sashes around their breasts.
It was given to her that she would array herself in bright, pure, fine linen: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
