Having eyes, don’t you see? Having ears, don’t you hear? Don’t you remember?
According as it is written, “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear, to this very day.”
that ‘seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest perhaps they should turn again, and their sins should be forgiven them.’ ”
Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom.”
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Yahweh has made even both of them.
He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest in parables; that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’
Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word.
O Yahweh, why do you make us wander from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we have not entreated the favor of Yahweh our God, that we should turn from our iniquities and have discernment in your truth.
saying, ‘Go to this people and say, in hearing, you will hear, but will in no way understand. In seeing, you will see, but will in no way perceive.
being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.
always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Yahweh your God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into your hand, as it is today.
But Yahweh has not given you a heart to know, eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.
However the high places were not taken away, and the people had still not set their hearts on the God of their fathers.
He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.
Don’t incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice deeds of wickedness with men who work iniquity. Don’t let me eat of their delicacies.
The ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib; but Israel doesn’t know. My people don’t consider.”
In that day, the deaf will hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
His watchmen are blind. They are all without knowledge. They are all mute dogs. They can’t bark— dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.
‘Hear this now, foolish people without understanding, who have eyes, and don’t see, who have ears, and don’t hear:
To whom should I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, Yahweh’s word has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.
“Son of man, you dwell in the middle of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don’t see, who have ears to hear, and don’t hear; for they are a rebellious house.
I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God’s law, I will also forget your children.
Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them, and departed.
They answered Jesus, and said, “We don’t know.” He also said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

“He has blinded their eyes and he hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, and would turn, and I would heal them.”
Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,
