Acts 13:7
Greek Text— Acts 13:7who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations.
Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things. They will consider the loving kindnesses of Yahweh.
“I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can’t tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.
The way of Yahweh is a stronghold to the upright, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh.
The report about him went out into all Syria. They brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.
If therefore Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a matter against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls. Let them press charges against one another.
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
Therefore men revere him. He doesn’t regard any who are wise of heart.”
He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,
The heart of one who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouths of fools feed on folly.
A man’s steps are from Yahweh; how then can man understand his way?
Buy the truth, and don’t sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.
Who is wise enough to understand this? Who is he to whom the mouth of Yahweh has spoken, that he may declare it? Why has the land perished and burned up like a wilderness, so that no one passes through?
Yahweh, within her, is righteous. He will do no wrong. Every morning he brings his justice to light. He doesn’t fail, but the unjust know no shame.
But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat,
When he had determined to pass over into Achaia, the brothers encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him. When he had come, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;
Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.
The Rock: his work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness who does no wrong, just and right is he.
Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to Yahweh’s law.
The heart of the discerning gets knowledge. The ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
I applied my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also was a chasing after wind.
Many will purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked will do wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand; but those who are wise will understand.
“Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock.
Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”
Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!”
and Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is set for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.
Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”
Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.
But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.
Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.
know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law,
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
For it has been the good pleasure of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are at Jerusalem.
But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.
Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.
Now I beg you, brothers—you know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to serve the saints—
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:
for I know your readiness, of which I boast on your behalf to those of Macedonia, that Achaia has been prepared for the past year. Your zeal has stirred up very many of them.
As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.
proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
Therefore don’t be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
so that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ,
Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith are rejected.
holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.
Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?
But you have dishonored the poor man. Don’t the rich oppress you, and personally drag you before the courts?
Finally, all of you be like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous,
“I know your works and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. You hold firmly to my name, and didn’t deny my faith in the days of Antipas my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come.
Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.
The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.
I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,
Wise men lay up knowledge, but the mouth of the foolish is near ruin.
The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
A wise man’s heart is at his right hand, but a fool’s heart at his left.
But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then had we plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
They have seen falsehood and lying divination, who say, ‘Yahweh says;’ but Yahweh has not sent them. They have made men to hope that the word would be confirmed.
Those who are wise will shine as the brightness of the expanse. Those who turn many to righteousness will shine as the stars forever and ever.
Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Yahweh are right, and the righteous walk in them; But the rebellious stumble in them.
Therefore a prudent person keeps silent in such a time, for it is an evil time.
This was the first enrollment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, that those who don’t see may see; and that those who see may become blind.”
Now in the neighborhood of that place were lands belonging to the chief man of the island, named Publius, who received us, and courteously entertained us for three days.
Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.
For those who are such don’t serve our Lord, Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.
For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,
Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
From now on, the crown of righteousness is stored up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,
When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.
