Acts 16:15
Greek Text— Acts 16:15When she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house and stay.” So she persuaded us.

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
He lifted up his eyes and looked, and saw that three men stood near him. When he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth,
But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
But I exhort you, brothers, endure the word of exhortation; for I have written to you in few words.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.
For I reckon that I am not at all behind the very best apostles.
But from those who were reputed to be important—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God doesn’t show partiality to man—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,
Avoid a factious man after a first and second warning,
Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
Their border was to Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,
For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
Behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, came; and seeing him, he fell at his feet,
He said to them, “Come, and see.” They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about the tenth hour.
Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking about God’s Kingdom.
Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Now I declare to you, brothers, the Good News which I preached to you, which also you received, in which you also stand,
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”
Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?
We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.
redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
but given to hospitality, a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled,
This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men;
whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory,
The elder to Gaius the beloved, whom I love in truth.
Now this present which your servant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.
Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.
They said, “Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous man and one who fears God, and well spoken of by all the nation of the Jews, was directed by a holy angel to invite you to his house, and to listen to what you say.”
Having sent into Macedonia two of those who served him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.
But these things don’t count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist. Don’t even eat with such a person.
If any man doesn’t love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be cursed. Come, Lord!
But I have all things and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well-pleasing sacrifice to God.
Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks in rebellion, and not after the tradition which they received from us.
If any man doesn’t obey our word in this letter, note that man, that you have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed.
The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house. We are his house, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.
For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.
Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.
He urged them greatly, and they came in with him, and entered into his house. He made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
Gideon went in and prepared a young goat and unleavened cakes of an ephah of meal. He put the meat in a basket and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it.
Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.
They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
The next day, he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
He took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes, and was immediately baptized, he and all his household.
But the free gift isn’t like the trespass. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God, and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.
(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love. Amen.
I thank him who enabled me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he counted me faithful, appointing me to service;
Erastus remained at Corinth, but I left Trophimus at Miletus sick.
For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah, and said, “Quickly prepare three seahs of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes.”
and he said, “See now, my lords, please come into your servant’s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you can rise up early, and go on your way.” They said, “No, but we will stay in the street all night.”
Please take the gift that I brought to you, because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.” He urged him, and he took it.
But he refused, and said, “I will not eat.” But his servants, together with the woman, constrained him; and he listened to their voice. So he arose from the earth and sat on the bed.
The king said to Absalom, “No, my son, let’s not all go, lest we be burdensome to you.” He pressed him; however he would not go, but blessed him.
One day Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman; and she persuaded him to eat bread. So it was, that as often as he passed by, he turned in there to eat bread.
With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.
Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.
He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.
Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.
Remain in that same house, eating and drinking the things they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Don’t go from house to house.
As they went on their way, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
“The lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them. He stayed there two days.
So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.
But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.
He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.
Gaius, my host and host of the whole assembly, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, greets you, as does Quartus, the brother.
For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.
begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.
I have become foolish in boasting. You compelled me, for I ought to have been commended by you, for I am in no way inferior to the very best apostles, though I am nothing.
So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:
It is even right for me to think this way on behalf of all of you, because I have you in my heart, because both in my bonds and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.
If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
of the teaching of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
If anyone comes to you, and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t receive him into your house, and don’t welcome him,
Beloved, you do a faithful work in whatever you accomplish for those who are brothers and strangers.
We therefore ought to receive such, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.
