He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.
A second likewise is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
They divide my garments among them. They cast lots for my clothing.
Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your descendants,
He kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, “Lord, don’t hold this sin against them!” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
When he was cursed, he didn’t curse back. When he suffered, he didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.
It will be accomplished before his time. His branch will not be green.
The fear of Yahweh prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
Therefore I will give him a portion with the great. He will divide the plunder with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death and was counted with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many and made intercession for the transgressors.
“You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
“Now, brothers, I know that you did this in ignorance, as did also your rulers.
Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well.
‘You shall tell Joseph, “Now please forgive the disobedience of your brothers, and their sin, because they did evil to you.” ’ Now, please forgive the disobedience of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him.
If you have sinned, what effect do you have against him? If your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
I am in pain and bowed down greatly. I go mourning all day long.
But you, God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days, but I will trust in you.
The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.
Therefore whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
‘Honor your father and your mother.’ And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
“But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.
May the Lord make you to increase and abound in love toward one another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,
although I used to be a blasphemer, a persecutor, and insolent. However, I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
The stranger who lives as a foreigner with you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.

So David checked his men with these words, and didn’t allow them to rise against Saul. Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
He said to David, “You are more righteous than I; for you have done good to me, whereas I have done evil to you.
He answered, “You shall not strike them. Would you strike those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.”
Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you.
Don’t say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat. If he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants.
came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.
for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.
Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus.
Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.
This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.
“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.
Outside the sword will bereave, and in the rooms, terror on both young man and virgin, the nursing infant with the gray-haired man.
Absalom spoke to Amnon neither good nor bad; for Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Tamar.
Absalom commanded his servants, saying, “Mark now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I tell you, ‘Strike Amnon,’ then kill him. Don’t be afraid. Haven’t I commanded you? Be courageous, and be valiant!”
who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
He raises his hands against his friends. He has violated his covenant.
In return for my love, they are my adversaries; but I am in prayer.
They have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding.
For, behold, Yahweh comes out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood, and will no longer cover her slain.
But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”
Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things.
Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn’t give God the glory. Then he was eaten by worms and died.
Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.
For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me;” says the Lord, “I will repay.” Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
Don’t grumble, brothers, against one another, so that you won’t be judged. Behold, the judge stands at the door.
“You shall not murder.
“ ‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh.
if I have rewarded evil to him who was at peace with me (yes, I have delivered him who without cause was my adversary),
I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother. I bowed down mourning, as one who mourns his mother.
But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.”
Don’t be too wicked, neither be foolish. Why should you die before your time?
But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear, and healed him.
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
