Hebrew Text— Exodus 2:13He went out the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews were fighting with each other. He said to him who did the wrong, “Why do you strike your fellow?”

I bowed my head, and worshiped Yahweh, and blessed Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master’s brother’s daughter for his son.
He said, “Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, please give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
I am not worthy of the least of all the loving kindnesses, and of all the truth, which you have shown to your servant; for with just my staff I crossed over this Jordan; and now I have become two companies.
He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s relative, and that he was Rebekah’s son. She ran and told her father.
Jethro said, “Blessed be Yahweh, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh; who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”
The women said to Naomi, “Blessed be Yahweh, who has not left you today without a near kinsman. Let his name be famous in Israel.
David said to Abigail, “Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who sent you today to meet me!
“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.
Behold, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Yahweh my God commanded me, that you should do so in the middle of the land where you go in to possess it.
Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, “Hear, Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears today, that you may learn them, and observe to do them.”
Absalom said to him, “Behold, your matters are good and right; but there is no man deputized by the king to hear you.”
Ahimaaz called, and said to the king, “All is well.” He bowed himself before the king with his face to the earth, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh your God, who has delivered up the men who lifted up their hand against my lord the king!”
See how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people;
“The day following, he appeared to them as they fought, and urged them to be at peace again, saying, ‘Sirs, you are brothers. Why do you wrong one another?’
Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?
Cain said to Abel, his brother, “Let’s go into the field.” While they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel, his brother, and killed him.
He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.
Abram said to Lot, “Please, let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen; for we are relatives.
When Abram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led out his three hundred eighteen trained men, born in his house, and pursued as far as Dan.
Blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Abram gave him a tenth of all.
But you shall go to my country, and to my relatives, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”
The man looked steadfastly at her, remaining silent, to know whether Yahweh had made his journey prosperous or not.
He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, Yahweh has led me on the way to the house of my master’s relatives.”
I came today to the spring, and said, ‘Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go—
Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” Jacob stayed with him for a month.
So he fled with all that he had. He rose up, passed over the River, and set his face toward the mountain of Gilead.
He took his relatives with him, and pursued him seven days’ journey. He overtook him in the mountain of Gilead.
Anyone you find your gods with shall not live. Before our relatives, discern what is yours with me, and take it.” For Jacob didn’t know that Rachel had stolen them.
Jacob said to his relatives, “Gather stones.” They took stones, and made a heap. They ate there by the heap.
Laban said, “This heap is witness between me and you today.” Therefore it was named Galeed
They sat down to eat bread, and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites was coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing spices and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.
In those days, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his brothers and saw their burdens. He saw an Egyptian striking a Hebrew, one of his brothers.
He said, “Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian?” Moses was afraid, and said, “Surely this thing is known.”
When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.”
You shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.
“If men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he doesn’t die, but is confined to bed;
“If men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman’s husband demands and the judges allow.
“Keep far from a false charge, and don’t kill the innocent and righteous; for I will not justify the wicked.
You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘Whoever curses his God shall bear his sin.
Yahweh said to Moses, “The man shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp.”
If he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer. The murderer shall surely be put to death.
Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the ordinances, which Yahweh your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land that you go over to possess;
When men strive against each other, and the wife of one draws near to deliver her husband out of the hand of him who strikes him, and puts out her hand, and grabs him by his private parts,
He was king in Jeshurun, when the heads of the people were gathered, all the tribes of Israel together.

Yahweh has returned the evildoing of Nabal on his own head.” David sent and spoke concerning Abigail, to take her to himself as wife.
Your servant had two sons, and they both fought together in the field, and there was no one to part them, but the one struck the other, and killed him.
Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate. When any man had a suit which should come to the king for judgment, then Absalom called to him, and said, “What city are you from?” He said, “Your servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.”
Then two women who were prostitutes came to the king, and stood before him.
At that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the way. Now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and the two of them were alone in the field.
Of the children of Benjamin, Saul’s relatives: three thousand, for until then, the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to Saul’s house.
‘Yahweh says, “You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers! Every man return to his house; for this thing is of me.” ’ ” So they listened to Yahweh’s words, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
“If I have despised the cause of my male servant or of my female servant, when they contended with me,
lest they tear apart my soul like a lion, ripping it in pieces, while there is no one to deliver.
Yahweh’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. Yahweh’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Yahweh, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times.
All the paths of Yahweh are loving kindness and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For Yahweh’s word is right. All his work is done in faithfulness.
He shall be enthroned in God’s presence forever. Appoint your loving kindness and truth, that they may preserve him.
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens, even the God who is our salvation.
But as for me, my prayer is to you, Yahweh, in an acceptable time. God, in the abundance of your loving kindness, answer me in the truth of your salvation.
For Yahweh is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of justice,
Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
“The east side, between Hauran and Damascus and Gilead, and the land of Israel, shall be the Jordan; from the north border to the east sea you shall measure. This is the east side.
You will give truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.
teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
A certain centurion’s servant, who was dear to him, was sick and at the point of death.
For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
Let as many as are bondservants under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the doctrine not be blasphemed.
Then his father and his mother said to him, “Isn’t there a woman among your brothers’ daughters, or among all my people, that you go to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines?” Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she pleases me well.”
