Genesis 30:13
Hebrew Text— Genesis 30:13Leah said, “Happy am I, for the daughters will call me happy.” She named him Asher.

The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Serah was their sister.
For though Yahweh is high, yet he looks after the lowly; but he knows the proud from afar.
Afterwards, she bore a daughter, and named her Dinah.
His name endures forever. His name continues as long as the sun. Men shall be blessed by him. All nations will call him blessed.
I was asleep, but my heart was awake. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks: “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled; for my head is filled with dew, and my hair with the dampness of the night.”

The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.
She vowed a vow, and said, “Yahweh of Armies, if you will indeed look at the affliction of your servant and remember me, and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a boy, then I will give him to Yahweh all the days of his life, and no razor shall come on his head.”
The memory of the righteous is blessed, but the name of the wicked will rot.
My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places of the mountainside, let me see your face. let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.
“All nations shall call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land,” says Yahweh of Armies.

Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:

You, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy against them,

There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,

Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Paddan Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian, to be his wife.

Dinah, the daughter of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
As her soul was departing (for she died), she named him Benoni, but his father named him Benjamin.
These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore to Jacob in Paddan Aram, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.
The sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.
The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and Serah their sister. The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah, his daughter, and these she bore to Jacob, even sixteen souls.
Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.
Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran.
Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

The name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
About Asher he said, “Asher is blessed with children. Let him be acceptable to his brothers. Let him dip his foot in oil.
You are happy, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by Yahweh, the shield of your help, the sword of your excellency? Your enemies will submit themselves to you. You will tread on their high places.”
Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
Their border was to Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,
This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
but the Asherites lived among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land, for they didn’t drive them out.
Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to Yahweh at Mizpah.
Then she fell on her face and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your sight, that you should take knowledge of me, since I am a foreigner?”
and he made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.
Abner said to David, “I will arise and go, and will gather all Israel to my lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your soul desires.” David sent Abner away; and he went in peace.
Joab fell to the ground on his face, showed respect, and blessed the king. Joab said, “Today your servant knows that I have found favor in your sight, my lord, king, in that the king has performed the request of his servant.”
In a little while, the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.
So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Achbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.
Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
So Hilkiah, and they whom the king had commanded, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tokhath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter), and they spoke to her to that effect.
Kings’ daughters are among your honorable women. At your right hand the queen stands in gold of Ophir.
I will make your name to be remembered in all generations. Therefore the peoples shall give you thanks forever and ever.
Don’t deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don’t forget the life of your poor forever.
Gilead is mine. Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is my helmet. Judah is my scepter.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “Yahweh has done great things for them.”
As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.
My dove, my perfect one, is unique. She is her mother’s only daughter. She is the favorite one of her who bore her. The daughters saw her, and called her blessed. The queens and the concubines saw her, and they praised her.
Why do you go about so much to change your ways? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.
Now concerning spiritual things, brothers, I don’t want you to be ignorant.
But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
when he comes in that day to be glorified in his saints and to be admired among all those who have believed, because our testimony to you was believed.
But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to show piety toward their own family and to repay their parents, for this is acceptable in the sight of God.

to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God’s word may not be blasphemed.

He had two wives. The name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
