Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.
that they should seek the Lord, if perhaps they might reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.
For by these he judges the people. He gives food in abundance.
Does the rain have a father? Or who fathers the drops of dew?
While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”
Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.
that I will give the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.
Who has cut a channel for the flood water, or the path for the thunder storm,
He waters the mountains from his rooms. The earth is filled with the fruit of your works.
He will give the rain for your seed, with which you will sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the ground will be rich and plentiful. In that day, your livestock will feed in large pastures.
Therefore the showers have been withheld and there has been no latter rain; yet you have had a prostitute’s forehead and you refused to be ashamed.
When he utters his voice, there is a roar of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.
Ask of Yahweh rain in the spring time, Yahweh who makes storm clouds, and he gives rain showers to everyone for the plants in the field.
“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.
Therefore Yahweh God sent him out from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from which he was taken.
They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God. They have provoked me to anger with their vanities. I will move them to jealousy with those who are not a people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them.
He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.
The earth has yielded its increase. God, even our own God, will bless us.
lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word;
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?
I will make them and the places around my hill a blessing. I will cause the shower to come down in its season. There will be showers of blessing.
“Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in Yahweh, your God; for he gives you the early rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the early rain and the latter rain, as before.
that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
God said, “Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seeds, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with their seeds in it, on the earth;” and it was so.
From now on, when you till the ground, it won’t yield its strength to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth.”
When I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,
Yahweh will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt; and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.” ’ ”
They didn’t see one another, and nobody rose from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
then I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bear fruit for the three years.
then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
Yahweh will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow.
Don’t turn away to go after vain things which can’t profit or deliver, for they are vain.
then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.
Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”
After many days, Yahweh’s word came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, show yourself to Ahab; and I will send rain on the earth.”
For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapor,
Have you entered the treasuries of the snow, or have you seen the treasures of the hail,
You drench its furrows. You level its ridges. You soften it with showers. You bless it with a crop.
You, God, sent a plentiful rain. You confirmed your inheritance when it was weary.
Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase.
He causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may produce food out of the earth:
I wait for Yahweh. My soul waits. I hope in his word.
who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass grow on the mountains.
By his knowledge, the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”
Behold, all of their deeds are vanity and nothing. Their molten images are wind and confusion.
They don’t say in their heart, ‘Let’s now fear Yahweh our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season, who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.’
They are vanity, a work of delusion. In the time of their visitation they will perish.
Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the sky give showers? Aren’t you he, Yahweh our God? Therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.
The tree of the field will yield its fruit, and the earth will yield its increase, and they will be secure in their land. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I have broken the bars of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hand of those who made slaves of them.
I will multiply the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field, that you may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations.
For, behold, he who forms the mountains, and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought; who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the high places of the earth: Yahweh, the God of Armies, is his name.”
“For the seed of peace and the vine will yield its fruit, and the ground will give its increase, and the heavens will give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.
The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.
Yet he didn’t leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you rains from the sky and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”
For the land which has drunk the rain that comes often on it and produces a crop suitable for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receives blessing from God;
No plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Yahweh God had not caused it to rain on the earth. There was not a man to till the ground,
When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder,
which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly.
He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings with the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries.
When he utters his voice, the waters in the heavens roar, and he causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings for the rain, and brings the wind out of his treasuries.
“I also have withheld the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest; and I caused it to rain on one city, and caused it not to rain on another city. One place was rained on, and the piece where it didn’t rain withered.
