being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father?’
in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.
All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.
who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
For the poor will never cease out of the land. Therefore I command you to surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.
“Look to me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
He is before all things, and in him all things are held together.
Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
who doesn’t need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself.
Jesus said, “I am. You will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of the sky.”
So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Then Jesus said, “I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.
Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you don’t know where I came from, or where I am going.
Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.
‘For in him we live, move, and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also his offspring.’
Walk in love, even as Christ also loved us and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.
Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession.
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God,
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
to God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honor, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed, and were created!”
Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.
They looked to him, and were radiant. Their faces shall never be covered with shame.
Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.
He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.
I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.
My Father who has given them to me is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.
Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.
I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.
Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,
so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.
who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.
who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.
knowing that the putting off of my tent comes swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.
For we didn’t follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him.
Out of the north comes golden splendor. With God is awesome majesty.
The earth and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars.
Yahweh says to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.”
teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.
For you always have the poor with you, but you don’t always have me.”
I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.
about righteousness, because I am going to my Father, and you won’t see me any more;
Some of his disciples therefore said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you won’t see me, and again a little while, and you will see me;’ and, ‘Because I go to the Father’?”
I came from the Father, and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”
I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do.
Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.
For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.
For you always have the poor with you; but you don’t always have me.
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and was going to God,
His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, who, when he had by himself purified us of our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high,
looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Then I asked, “Where are you going?” He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”
For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want to, you can do them good; but you will not always have me.
It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Jerusalem
Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
You heard how I told you, ‘I go away, and I come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I said ‘I am going to my Father;’ for the Father is greater than I.
A little while, and you will not see me. Again a little while, and you will see me.”
But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.
