Hebrew Text— Leviticus 10:5So they came near, and carried them in their tunics out of the camp, as Moses had said.

Nadab and Abihu died when they offered strange fire before Yahweh.
Fire came out from before Yahweh, and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
Fire came out from Yahweh, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.
You shall bring his sons, and put tunics on them.
The people were complaining in the ears of Yahweh. When Yahweh heard it, his anger burned; and Yahweh’s fire burned among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.
“You shall make tunics for Aaron’s sons. You shall make sashes for them. You shall make headbands for them, for glory and for beauty.
Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzzah; and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by God’s ark.
Then Yahweh’s fire fell, and consumed the burnt offering, the wood, the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
When the priests enter in, then they shall not go out of the holy place into the outer court, but they shall lay their garments in which they minister there; for they are holy. Then they shall put on other garments, and shall approach that which is for the people.”

They made the tunics of fine linen of woven work for Aaron and for his sons,
Moses did as Yahweh commanded him; and the congregation was assembled at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Moses brought Aaron’s sons, and clothed them with tunics, and tied sashes on them, and put headbands on them, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
Fire came out from before Yahweh, and devoured them, and they died before Yahweh.
Yahweh spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they came near before Yahweh, and died;
but they shall not go in to see the sanctuary even for a moment, lest they die.”
Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, in addition to those who died about the matter of Korah.
He struck of the men of Beth Shemesh, because they had looked into Yahweh’s ark, he struck fifty thousand seventy of the men. Then the people mourned, because Yahweh had struck the people with a great slaughter.
He went and found his body thrown on the path, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body. The lion had not eaten the body, nor mauled the donkey.
You shall drink from the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.
Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!” Then fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.
Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, then let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!” Then God’s fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.
Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him, because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.
For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”
But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office.
While he was still speaking, there also came another, and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
and said, ‘You may come here, but no further. Your proud waves shall be stopped here?’
Can you send out lightnings, that they may go? Do they report to you, ‘Here we are?’
Smoke went out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it.
Yahweh’s voice strikes with flashes of lightning.
Let your priests be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”
lightning and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling his word;
For his burning place has long been ready. Yes, for the king it is prepared. He has made its pyre deep and large with fire and much wood. Yahweh’s breath, like a stream of sulfur, kindles it.
But you will be called Yahweh’s priests. Men will call you the servants of our God. You will eat the wealth of the nations. You will boast in their glory.
I will greatly rejoice in Yahweh! My soul will be joyful in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation. He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me and behold, the Lord Yahweh called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land.
Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard these things.
She fell down immediately at his feet and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were loosened.
Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.
You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on the earth.”
