I find more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and traps, whose hands are chains. Whoever pleases God shall escape from her; but the sinner will be ensnared by her.
For what does it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
Remove your way far from her. Don’t come near the door of her house,
Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

They went after them to the Jordan; and behold, all the path was full of garments and equipment which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. The messengers returned, and told the king.

Then the mariners were afraid, and every man cried to his god. They threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone down into the innermost parts of the ship, and he was laying down, and was fast asleep.
Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house.
He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
In that day, he who will be on the housetop and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.
On the third day, they threw out the ship’s tackle with their own hands.
Now I exhort you to cheer up, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
When they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, throwing out the wheat into the sea.
Don’t be deceived! “Evil companionships corrupt good morals.”
For, “He who would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
As Samuel turned around to go away, Saul grabbed the skirt of his robe, and it tore.
Satan answered Yahweh, and said, “Skin for skin. Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life.
Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.
However, I consider those things that were gain to me as a loss for Christ.
