Greek Text— Mark 2:22No one puts new wine into old wineskins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into fresh wineskins.”

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
Today Yahweh your God commands you to do these statutes and ordinances. You shall therefore keep and do them with all your heart and with all your soul.
He walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Yahweh his God, as the heart of David his father.
My skin grows black and peels from me. My bones are burned with heat.
No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed.
Yahweh’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. Yahweh’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your law.
Their appearance is blacker than a coal. They are not known in the streets. Their skin clings to their bones. It is withered. It has become like a stick.
Neither do people put new wine into old wine skins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved.”

“ ‘You shall therefore keep all my statutes and all my ordinances, and do them, that the land where I am bringing you to dwell may not vomit you out.
But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him I will bring into the land into which he went. His offspring shall possess it.
and return to Yahweh your God and obey his voice according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul,
they also resorted to a ruse, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks on their donkeys, and old, torn-up and bound up wine skins,
and old and patched sandals on their feet, and wore old garments. All the bread of their food supply was dry and moldy.
These wine skins, which we filled, were new; and behold, they are torn. These our garments and our sandals have become old because of the very long journey.”
“Now therefore fear Yahweh, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, in Egypt; and serve Yahweh.
Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”
He did that which was evil, because he didn’t set his heart to seek Yahweh.
But the high places were not taken away out of Israel; nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
He did that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes, but not with a perfect heart.
Behold, my breast is as wine which has no vent; like new wineskins it is ready to burst.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.
I am forgotten from their hearts like a dead man. I am like broken pottery.
Blessed is the man to whom Yahweh doesn’t impute iniquity, in whose spirit there is no deceit.
For their heart was not right with him, neither were they faithful in his covenant.
For my days consume away like smoke. My bones are burned as a torch.
Then I wouldn’t be disappointed, when I consider all of your commandments.
I will delight myself in your statutes. I will not forget your word.
I cling to your statutes, Yahweh. Don’t let me be disappointed.
For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke. I don’t forget your statutes.
My soul is continually in my hand, yet I won’t forget your law.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I don’t forget your commandments.
Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good, to those who are upright in their hearts.
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life.
and said, “Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” Then Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Our skin is black like an oven, because of the burning heat of famine.
“I will bring you out of the middle of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
“But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he has committed, and keeps all my statutes, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die.
At their presence the peoples are in anguish. All faces have grown pale.
“Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”
But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”
For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,
Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not grown old on you, and your sandals have not grown old on your feet.
Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed.
The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
