For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins.
Samuel said, “Has Yahweh as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying Yahweh’s voice? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.
But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you wouldn’t have condemned the guiltless.
For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
He commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay some days.
Now why do you wait? Arise, be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’
To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.
Have mercy on me, God, according to your loving kindness. According to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.
Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.
But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Now Yahweh’s word came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
The people of Nineveh believed God; and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from their greatest even to their least.
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, yet are not washed from their filthiness.
But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;
If he finds it, most certainly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray.
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’ ”
God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the law shall go out of Zion, and Yahweh’s word from Jerusalem.
But about the dead, that they are raised; haven’t you read in the book of Moses, about the Bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
Or don’t you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,
to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.
Yahweh says, “Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is near and my righteousness will soon be revealed.
“But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he has committed, and keeps all my statutes, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die.
Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
“Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter in by it.
He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
for as yet he had fallen on none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of Christ Jesus.
But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!
to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
for God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.
for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”
The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent,
“Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways,” says the Lord Yahweh. “Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity will not be your ruin.
“Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”
Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”
testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus.
But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’
Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.
the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord! Make his paths straight!’ ”
and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
He sent them out to preach God’s Kingdom and to heal the sick.
They departed and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News and healing everywhere.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.
Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.”
“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord,
but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
Therefore leaving the teaching of the first principles of Christ, let’s press on to perfection—not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, of faith toward God,
