Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. What then do you say about her?”
For that would be a heinous crime. Yes, it would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges;
“You shall not commit adultery.
“ ‘You shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, and defile yourself with her.
“ ‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
I will judge you, as women who break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of wrath and jealousy.
Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
The man shall be free from iniquity, and that woman shall bear her iniquity.’ ”
“You shall not commit adultery.
“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
One has committed abomination with his neighbor’s wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law. Another in you has humbled his sister, his father’s daughter.
Righteous men will judge them with the judgment of adulteresses and with the judgment of women who shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, “What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!”

Her husband arose and went after her to speak kindly to her, to bring her again, having his servant with him and a couple of donkeys. She brought him into her father’s house; and when the father of the young lady saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.
When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.
She gives no thought to the way of life. Her ways are crooked, and she doesn’t know it.
Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart, neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.
So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife. Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.
Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
“So is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, and says, ‘I have done nothing wrong.’
“How can you say, ‘I am not defiled. I have not gone after the Baals’? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done. You are a swift dromedary traversing her ways,
“How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by what are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the prostitutes’ houses.
and has not eaten on the mountains, hasn’t lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hasn’t defiled his neighbor’s wife, hasn’t come near a woman in her impurity,
Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich, I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”
Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.
I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against the perjurers, and against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and who deprive the foreigner of justice, and don’t fear me,” says Yahweh of Armies.
Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’

Now the deeds of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,
So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
