Hebrew Text— Psalms 34:6This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring:
Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.
Behold, Yahweh’s eye is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his loving kindness,
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.
For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory,
Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.
for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
In my distress, I cried to Yahweh. He answered me.
Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, “Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,
“Now, my God, let, I beg you, your eyes be open, and let your ears be attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place.
For Yahweh’s eyes run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.”
Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for Yahweh has heard the voice of my weeping.
My God will go before me with his loving kindness. God will let me look at my enemies in triumph.
But I am poor and needy. Come to me quickly, God. You are my help and my deliverer. Yahweh, don’t delay.
You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles, you will let me live. You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.
for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them.
If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent taking away of justice and righteousness in a district, don’t marvel at the matter, for one official is eyed by a higher one, and there are officials over them.
He said, “I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried. You heard my voice.
But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,
I will surely require accounting for your life’s blood. At the hand of every animal I will require it. At the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, I will require the life of man.
Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”
Reuben answered them, saying, “Didn’t I tell you, saying, ‘Don’t sin against the child,’ and you wouldn’t listen? Therefore also, behold, his blood is required.”
Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to Yahweh, and said, “I will sing to Yahweh, for he has triumphed gloriously. He has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea.
Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,
Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;
For the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor perish forever.
Arise, Yahweh! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless.
Oh, send out your light and your truth. Let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy hill, to your tents.
You who hear prayer, all men will come to you.
My eye has also seen my enemies. My ears have heard of the wicked enemies who rise up against me.
His heart is established. He will not be afraid in the end when he sees his adversaries.
Out of my distress, I called on Yah. Yah answered me with freedom.
For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.
It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
But Yahweh of Armies, who tests the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for I have revealed my cause to you.
strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many afflictions we must enter into God’s Kingdom.
My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
When Pharaoh came near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were very afraid. The children of Israel cried out to Yahweh.
David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, “As Yahweh lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house on his bed, should I not now require his blood from your hand, and rid the earth of you?”
Yahweh said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication, that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.
Then on that day David first ordained to give thanks to Yahweh, by the hand of Asaph and his brothers.
because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God, when you heard his words against this place, and against its inhabitants, and have humbled yourself before me, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me, I also have heard you,” says Yahweh.
For Ezra had set his heart to seek Yahweh’s law, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.
“Behold, God is mighty, and doesn’t despise anyone. He is mighty in strength of understanding.
Bow down your ear to me. Deliver me speedily. Be to me a strong rock, a house of defense to save me.
The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.
Many, Yahweh, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us. They can’t be declared back to you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted.
He has responded to the prayer of the destitute, and has not despised their prayer.
Yahweh is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him. He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
“Now I will arise,” says Yahweh. “Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted.
“I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.”
Sing to Yahweh! Praise Yahweh, for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers.
“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.
persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all.
So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials,
casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.
In my distress, I called on Yahweh. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.
For he who avenges blood remembers them. He doesn’t forget the cry of the afflicted.
“Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy, I will now arise,” says Yahweh; “I will set him in safety from those who malign him.”
For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted, Neither has he hidden his face from him; but when he cried to him, he heard.
For he has delivered me out of all trouble. My eye has seen triumph over my enemies.
the angel who has redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads, and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac. Let them grow into a multitude upon the earth.”
Yahweh said, “I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
But God split the hollow place that is in Lehi, and water came out of it. When he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived. Therefore its name was called En Hakkore, which is in Lehi, to this day.
David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,
I call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.
Asa cried to Yahweh his God, and said, “Yahweh, there is no one besides you to help, between the mighty and him who has no strength. Help us, Yahweh our God; for we rely on you, and in your name are we come against this multitude. Yahweh, you are our God. Don’t let man prevail against you.”
I cry to Yahweh with my voice, and he answers me out of his holy hill.
Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,
For you will save the afflicted people, but the arrogant eyes you will bring down.
I cried to you, Yahweh. I made supplication to the Lord:
All my bones shall say, “Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from him who is too strong for him; yes, the poor and the needy from him who robs him?”
I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.
But I am poor and needy. May the Lord think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Don’t delay, my God.
I cried to him with my mouth. He was extolled with my tongue.
But most certainly, God has listened. He has heard the voice of my prayer.
For Yahweh hears the needy, and doesn’t despise his captive people.
My cry goes to God! Indeed, I cry to God for help, and for him to listen to me.
Hear, Yahweh, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Then I called on Yahweh’s name: “Yahweh, I beg you, deliver my soul.”
The poor and needy seek water, and there is none. Their tongue fails for thirst. I, Yahweh, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
You heard my voice: “Don’t hide your ear from my sighing, and my cry.”
