Romans 14:22
Greek Text— Romans 14:22Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who doesn’t judge himself in that which he approves.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.
Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
You observe days, months, seasons, and years.
in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,
Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work.
However, that knowledge isn’t in all men. But some, with consciousness of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
Don’t count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
Brothers, if any among you wanders from the truth and someone turns him back,
To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
and make straight paths for your feet, so what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.
Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior;
Now, little children, remain in him, that when he appears, we may have boldness, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death. I don’t say that he should make a request concerning this.
Paul, looking steadfastly at the council, said, “Brothers, I have lived before God in all good conscience until today.”
Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no other God but one.
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. Always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, with humility and fear,
“ ‘The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the prostitute, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire.
For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face to God.
For the work of a man he will render to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
“I, Yahweh, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.”
great in counsel, and mighty in work; whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of men, to give everyone according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.
Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. Don’t let him who doesn’t eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him.
so that on the contrary you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest by any means such a one should be swallowed up with his excessive sorrow.
For we are not as so many, peddling the word of God. But as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God, we speak in Christ.
Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
“ ‘You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.
I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go. My heart will not reproach me so long as I live.
Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God’s salvation to him.”
I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up.
Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and doesn’t sin.
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
For we have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
“I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.” ’
Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
They were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord.
But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”
knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
Don’t overthrow God’s work for food’s sake. All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating.
I myself am also persuaded about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.
We also speak these things, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.
But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.
Brothers, I couldn’t speak to you as to spiritual, but as to fleshly, as to babies in Christ.
For I know nothing against myself. Yet I am not justified by this, but he who judges me is the Lord.
Let all that you do be done in love.
You are witnesses with God how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.
but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and sincere faith,
having been reminded of the sincere faith that is in you, which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.
However God’s firm foundation stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.”
to speak evil of no one, not to be contentious, to be gentle, showing all humility toward all men.
You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.”
For we all stumble in many things. Anyone who doesn’t stumble in word is a perfect person, able to bridle the whole body also.
having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.
and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh.
But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
But I have this against you, that you tolerate your woman, Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. She teaches and seduces my servants to commit sexual immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Hezekiah did so throughout all Judah; and he did that which was good, right, and faithful before Yahweh his God.
For that would be a heinous crime. Yes, it would be an iniquity to be punished by the judges;
If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?
My God has sent his angel, and has shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not hurt me; because as before him innocence was found in me; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.”
One man esteems one day as more important. Another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it isn’t of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.
About three months later, Judah was told, “Tamar, your daughter-in-law, has played the prostitute. Moreover, behold, she is with child by prostitution.” Judah said, “Bring her out, and let her be burned.”
In this I also practice always having a conscience void of offense toward God and men.
who “will pay back to everyone according to their works:”
For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.
What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
One man has faith to eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.
I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.
For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.
