Hebrew Text— 1 Kings 1:40All the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth shook with their sound.

The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, like a hut in a field of melons, like a besieged city.
“Go down ahead of me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you, to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace offerings. Wait seven days, until I come to you, and show you what you are to do.”

Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell within you,’ says Yahweh.
“Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”
Samuel called the people together to Yahweh to Mizpah;
Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves of bread, two containers of wine, five sheep ready dressed, five seahs of parched grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on donkeys.
The king stood by the pillar, and made a covenant before Yahweh, to walk after Yahweh, and to keep his commandments, his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and all his soul, to confirm the words of this covenant that were written in this book; and all the people agreed to the covenant.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”
They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations.
Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king in Gihon. They have come up from there rejoicing, so that the city rang again. This is the noise that you have heard.
Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “This is treason, Ahaziah!”
Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.
Yahweh reigns! He is clothed with majesty! Yahweh is armed with strength. The world also is established. It can’t be moved.
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and behold, all is vanity and a chasing after wind.
For Yahweh is our judge. Yahweh is our lawgiver. Yahweh is our king. He will save us.
I myself am Yahweh. Besides me, there is no savior.
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
“Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom.
I heard something like the voice of a great multitude, and like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of mighty thunders, saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns!
Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and chief over them. Jephthah spoke all his words before Yahweh in Mizpah.
When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a container of wine.
Let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel. Blow the trumpet, and say, ‘Long live king Solomon!’
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns!”
So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had slain Athaliah with the sword.
“Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”

Yahweh reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.

You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength! Lift it up! Don’t be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
He will not shout, nor raise his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.
For I am Yahweh your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
“Sing, barren, you who didn’t give birth; break out into singing, and cry aloud, you who didn’t travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,” says Yahweh.
Behold, Yahweh has proclaimed to the end of the earth, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your salvation comes! Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him!’ ”
I will overturn, overturn, overturn it. This also will be no more, until he comes whose right it is; and I will give it.” ’
She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people from their sins.”
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of him.”
They brought the young donkey to Jesus, and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.
saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”
Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
You worship that which you don’t know. We worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,
But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,
Afterward they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.
Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.

Of these were the islands of the nations divided in their lands, everyone after his language, after their families, in their nations.
They called the name of that place Bochim, and they sacrificed there to Yahweh.
All the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before Yahweh in Gilgal. There they offered sacrifices of peace offerings before Yahweh; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.
All the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, “The king delivered us out of the hand of our enemies, and he saved us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he has fled out of the land from Absalom.
and she looked, and behold, the king stood by the pillar, as the tradition was, with the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and cried, “Treason! Treason!”
So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had slain Athaliah with the sword at the king’s house.
Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, on camels, on mules, and on oxen: supplies of flour, cakes of figs, clusters of raisins, wine, oil, cattle, and sheep in abundance; for there was joy in Israel.
so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
They offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for God had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women and the children also rejoiced; so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even far away.
Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Yahweh reigns! Let the earth rejoice! Let the multitude of islands be glad!
Then I looked at all the works that my hands had worked, and at the labor that I had labored to do; and behold, all was vanity and a chasing after wind, and there was no profit under the sun.
So I hated life, because the work that is worked under the sun was grievous to me; for all is vanity and a chasing after wind.
For to the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who pleases God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
There was no end of all the people, even of all them over whom he was—yet those who come after shall not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
The islands have seen, and fear. The ends of the earth tremble. They approach, and come.
He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands wait for his law.”
Listen, islands, to me. Listen, you peoples, from afar: Yahweh has called me from the womb; from the inside of my mother, he has mentioned my name.
Sing, heavens, and be joyful, earth! Break out into singing, mountains, for Yahweh has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted.
My righteousness is near. My salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples. The islands will wait for me, and they will trust my arm.
Surely the islands will wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Yahweh your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.
“I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far-away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, ‘Give thanks to Yahweh of Armies, for Yahweh is good, for his loving kindness endures forever;’ who bring thanksgiving into Yahweh’s house. For I will cause the captivity of the land to be reversed as at the first,” says Yahweh.

Therefore at that time, when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshiped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
Saviors will go up on Mount Zion to judge the mountains of Esau, and the kingdom will be Yahweh’s.
Yahweh will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make the way of the Lord ready! Make his paths straight!”
Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’
and say, ‘We played the flute for you, and you didn’t dance. We mourned for you, and you didn’t lament.’
Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,
saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was; because you have taken your great power and reigned.
