Hebrew Text— 1 Samuel 25:41She arose, and bowed herself with her face to the earth, and said, “Behold, your servant is a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.”

When Abigail saw David, she hurried and got off her donkey, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground.
When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.

The man brought the men into Joseph’s house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet. He gave their donkeys fodder.
Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May he be blessed by Yahweh, who has not abandoned his kindness to the living and to the dead.” Naomi said to her, “The man is a close relative to us, one of our near kinsmen.”
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Esau said, “Let me now leave with you some of the people who are with me.” He said, “Why? Let me find favor in the sight of my lord.”
Her mother-in-law said to her, “Where have you gleaned today? Where have you worked? Blessed be he who noticed you.” She told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, “The man’s name with whom I worked today is Boaz.”
She said, “Let your servant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate; and her facial expression wasn’t sad any more.
David said to Uriah, “Go down to your house and wash your feet.” Uriah departed out of the king’s house, and a gift from the king was sent after him.
Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall.
Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

Then she fell on her face and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your sight, that you should take knowledge of me, since I am a foreigner?”
Now it is true that I am a near kinsman. However, there is a kinsman nearer than I.
He bowed down, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look at such a dead dog as I am?”
Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that belongs to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said, “I bow down. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.”
So Haman came in. The king said to him, “What shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor?” Now Haman said in his heart, “Who would the king delight to honor more than myself?”
Yahweh says to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet.”
He who loves disobedience loves strife. One who builds a high gate seeks destruction.
A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.
She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.
“Son of man, tell the prince of Tyre, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the middle of the seas;’ yet you are man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God—
Will you yet say before him who kills you, ‘I am God’? But you are man, and not God, in the hand of him who wounds you.
The land of Egypt will be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am Yahweh. “ ‘ “Because he has said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it;’
Why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor preferring one another;
Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
Now let a little water be fetched, wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.
The man came into the house, and he unloaded the camels. He gave straw and feed for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him.
So he brought him into his house, and gave the donkeys fodder. Then they washed their feet, and ate and drank.
Then she said, “Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, because you have comforted me, and because you have spoken kindly to your servant, though I am not as one of your servants.”
He said, “Who are you?” She answered, “I am Ruth your servant. Therefore spread the corner of your garment over your servant; for you are a near kinsman.”
The fear of Yahweh teaches wisdom. Before honor is humility.
Before destruction the heart of man is proud, but before honor is humility.
Turning to the woman, he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has wet my feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head.
Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
