Hebrew Text— Deuteronomy 27:8You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it in a book, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.
Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.
He wrote there on the stones a copy of Moses’ law, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel.
Then I said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! They say of me, ‘Isn’t he a speaker of parables?’ ”
Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained everything.
He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Good News,
saying, “What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”
I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will solve my riddle on the harp.
I will open my mouth in a parable. I will utter dark sayings of old,
“The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond. It is engraved on the tablet of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.
Yahweh answered me, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it.
Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them,
He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How will you understand all of the parables?
Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.
“I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint.
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.
Therefore though I have all boldness in Christ to command you that which is appropriate,
The stones shall be according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names; like the engravings of a signet, everyone according to his name, they shall be for the twelve tribes.
The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.
These are the commandments which Yahweh commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai.
These are the commandments and the ordinances which Yahweh commanded by Moses to the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses began to declare this law, saying,
This is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel.
You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates.
You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over, that you may go in to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
‘Cursed is he who doesn’t uphold the words of this law by doing them.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’ ”
“Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.
Moses commanded us a law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob.
They read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.
That with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever!
to understand a proverb, and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.
Yahweh said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;
You shall tell them, “Yahweh says: ‘If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
He spread it before me. It was written within and without; and lamentations, mourning, and woe were written in it.
In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head on his bed. Then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.
But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many will run back and forth, and knowledge will be increased.”
“Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.
What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow.
He asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, “His name is John.” They all marveled.
For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
The Jews therefore came around him and said to him, “How long will you hold us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”
So Jesus said to them plainly then, “Lazarus is dead.
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. But the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in figures of speech, but will tell you plainly about the Father.
His disciples said to him, “Behold, now you are speaking plainly, and using no figures of speech.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
He is ‘the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.’
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.
preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus. He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists, but they were seeking to kill him.
Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
However in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech,
But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, “I believed, and therefore I spoke.” We also believe, and therefore we also speak;
Now I Paul, myself, entreat you by the humility and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you.
according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
that I may reveal it as I ought to speak.
For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them.”
The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel:
He said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb.’ ” He said to me, “These are true words of God.”
