Greek Text— Ephesians 4:28Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

if like Adam I have covered my transgressions, by hiding my iniquity in my heart,
An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning, won’t be blessed in the end.
For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you;
For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.
I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death.
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon.
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,
The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.
Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.
Yahweh God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.
“You shall have no other gods before me.
“You shall not steal.
“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
If a man is found stealing any of his brothers of the children of Israel, and he deals with him as a slave, or sells him, then that thief shall die. So you shall remove the evil from among you.
He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
I will utter my judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, in that they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, and worshiped the works of their own hands.
if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt;
As gangs of robbers wait to ambush a man, so the company of priests murder on the path toward Shechem, committing shameful crimes.
According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted. Therefore they have forgotten me.
For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.”
He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “ ‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’
He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
Jesus therefore said to them, “Yet a little while the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, that darkness doesn’t overtake you. He who walks in the darkness doesn’t know where he is going.
but declared first to them of Damascus, at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting, unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men;
But don’t forget to be doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.
“ ‘You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. “ ‘The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.
But Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You have grown fat. You have grown thick. You have become sleek. Then he abandoned God who made him, and rejected the Rock of his salvation.
Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
He who increases his wealth by excessive interest gathers it for one who has pity on the poor.
Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, and those who dwell therein are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men are left.
Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; and I will make Jacob a curse, and Israel an insult.”
“Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out of the waters of Judah. You swear by Yahweh’s name, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness—
For according to the number of your cities are your gods, Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have you set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense to Baal.’
For Yahweh of Armies, who planted you, has pronounced evil against you, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done to themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense to Baal.
but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
They answered him, “We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free’?”
I must work the works of him who sent me while it is day. The night is coming, when no one can work.
It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints,
Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through much giving of thanks to God,
But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints;
Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Now those who are that way, we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness and eat their own bread.
who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house. We are his house, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.
For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.
Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.”
In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.
So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.
that no one should take advantage of and wrong a brother or sister in this matter; because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.
neither did we eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you,
that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to share;
You will eat bread by the sweat of your face until you return to the ground, for you were taken out of it. For you are dust, and you shall return to dust.”
“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
“Anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
“ ‘You shall not steal. “ ‘You shall not lie. “ ‘You shall not deceive one another.
“You shall not steal.
Behold, an old man came from his work out of the field at evening. Now the man was from the hill country of Ephraim, and he lived in Gibeah; but the men of the place were Benjamites.
Teach me that which I don’t see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?
Man goes out to his work, to his labor until the evening.
Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty.
There are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and don’t withhold.
He who conceals his sins doesn’t prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
lest I be full, deny you, and say, ‘Who is Yahweh?’ or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,
Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your tranquility.”
There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.
Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the surface of the whole land; for everyone who steals shall be cut off according to it on the one side; and everyone who swears falsely shall be cut off according to it on the other side.
Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.
For this might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii, and given to the poor.” So they grumbled against her.
Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and don’t begin to say among yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father;’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!
He said to them, “Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”
Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, used to steal what was put into it.
For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.
how in much proof of affliction, the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their generosity.
Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
