Hebrew Text— Exodus 5:15Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried to Pharaoh, saying, “Why do you deal this way with your servants?

The taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spoke to the people, saying, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you straw.
The children of Israel traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, in addition to children.
The Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and imposed hard labor on us.
