They also gave me poison for my food. In my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
My strength is dried up like a potsherd. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have brought me into the dust of death.
You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
Jesus therefore said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.
Yahweh will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.
“Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,” says Yahweh of Armies. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.
There they were in great fear, where no fear was, for God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you. You have put them to shame, because God has rejected them.
Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
and will hand him over to the Gentiles to mock, to scourge, and to crucify; and the third day he will be raised up.”
“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
Behold, the time is coming, yes, and has now come, that you will be scattered, everyone to his own place, and you will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
Now after these things had ended, Paul determined in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”
I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.
but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”
He said, “Go into the city to a certain person, and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is at hand. I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples.” ’ ”
saying, “Sir, we remember what that deceiver said while he was still alive: ‘After three days I will rise again.’
For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me has an end.”
Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!”
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Good News of God in much conflict.
Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their donkeys, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,
He will not be afraid of evil news. His heart is steadfast, trusting in Yahweh.
The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
Now all this has happened that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.
For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death,
even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ by men.
For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”
Jesus answered them, “The time has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.
Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
I came from the Father, and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”
that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
Then they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it to decide whose it will be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, “They parted my garments among them. For my cloak they cast lots.” Therefore the soldiers did these things.
that God has fulfilled this to us, their children, in that he raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your father.’
Therefore they stayed there a long time, speaking boldly in the Lord, who testified to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
“ ‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword. They will fall when no one pursues.
Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”
Then I said, “Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll.
For Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. They will fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes will see it. I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them captive to Babylon, and will kill them with the sword.
and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets that he will be called a Nazarene.
Blessed is he who finds no occasion for stumbling in me.”
and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.
Then he came to his disciples, and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
But all this has happened that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
They will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”
It was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread, and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might seize him by deception, and kill him.
saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.”
But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
He took the twelve aside, and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”
Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”
The same came to him by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”
Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand. Many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God, and was going to God,
When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
But this happened so that the word may be fulfilled which was written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’
They asked her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.
Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit,
The people of Israel were struck there before David’s servants, and there was a great slaughter there that day of twenty thousand men.
and speak to him, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies says, “Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: and he shall grow up out of his place; and he shall build Yahweh’s temple;
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?” She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
A certain man found him, and behold, he was wandering in the field. The man asked him, “What are you looking for?”
As Yahweh your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent to seek you. When they said, ‘He is not here,’ he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they didn’t find you.
I said, “Should a man like me flee? Who is there that, being such as I, would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in.”
I will not be afraid of tens of thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. Though war should rise against me, even then I will be confident.
The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the righteous are as bold as a lion.
From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
As they were eating, he said, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of me tonight, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”
But there are some of you who don’t believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who didn’t believe, and who it was who would betray him.
For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”
After this, Jesus, seeing that all things were now finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I am thirsty.”
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?” Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, “Do you have affection for me?” He said to him, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’
Now, behold, I go bound by the Spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there;
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
