Hebrew Text— Nehemiah 9:11You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the middle of the sea on the dry land; and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.

The deeps cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.
With the blast of your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
Isn’t it you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass over?
salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us;
God remembered Noah, all the animals, and all the livestock that were with him in the ship; and God made a wind to pass over the earth. The waters subsided.
Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your rod, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood. There will be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’ ”
But the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
Thus Yahweh saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
For the horses of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them; but the children of Israel walked on dry land in the middle of the sea.
He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab.
Then the channels of waters appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, Yahweh, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.
The waters saw you, God. The waters saw you, and they writhed. The depths also convulsed.
He split the sea, and caused them to pass through. He made the waters stand as a heap.
The floods have lifted up, Yahweh, the floods have lifted up their voice. The floods lift up their waves.
The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.
Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,
The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan was driven back.
and made Israel to pass through the middle of it; for his loving kindness endures forever;
Yahweh, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, so that its waves roar; Yahweh of Armies is his name, says:
It will be, when you have finished reading this book, that you shall bind a stone to it, and cast it into the middle of the Euphrates.
You trampled the sea with your horses, churning mighty waters.
This man led them out, having worked wonders and signs in Egypt, in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness for forty years.
The Egyptians pursued them. All the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen, and his army overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pihahiroth, before Baal Zephon.
Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and Yahweh caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
You blew with your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
It shall be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of Yahweh, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters that come down from above shall stand in one heap.”
the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho.
The priests who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.
They were a wall to us both by night and by day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
“Have you entered into the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in the recesses of the deep?
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are like a great deep. Yahweh, you preserve man and animal.
He led them safely, so that they weren’t afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
Why, when I came, was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can’t redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water, and die of thirst.
The king spoke and said, “Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?”
He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languishes.
You went out for the salvation of your people, for the salvation of your anointed. You crushed the head of the land of wickedness. You stripped them head to foot.
Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of your arm they are as still as a stone, until your people pass over, Yahweh, until the people you have purchased pass over.
They traveled from before Hahiroth, and crossed through the middle of the sea into the wilderness. They went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.
When the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people,
He turned the sea into dry land. They went through the river on foot. There, we rejoiced in him.
Your way was through the sea; your paths through the great waters. Your footsteps were not known.
to him who divided the Red Sea apart; for his loving kindness endures forever;
but overthrew Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea; for his loving kindness endures forever:
He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. Yahweh has ordered the destruction of Canaan’s strongholds.
Who led them through the depths, like a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?
I will make you a terror, and you will no more have any being. Though you are sought for, yet you will never be found again,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”
Speak and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the middle of his rivers, that has said, ‘My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’
Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up.
I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?”
The children of Israel went into the middle of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.
The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.
For Yahweh your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you until you had crossed over, as Yahweh your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us, until we had crossed over,
I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and you came to the sea. The Egyptians pursued your fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the Red Sea.
You divided the sea by your strength. You broke the heads of the sea monsters in the waters.
He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.
He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
Yahweh, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters,
For I am Yahweh your God, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar. Yahweh of Armies is his name.
Who caused his glorious arm to be at Moses’ right hand? Who divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
The mountains saw you, and were afraid. The storm of waters passed by. The deep roared and lifted up its hands on high.
A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all.
