Hebrew Text— Ezekiel 3:25But you, son of man, behold, they will put ropes on you, and will bind you with them, and you will not go out among them.

As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, “Paul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!”
For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.
Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane! Why do you listen to him?”
Behold, I put ropes on you, and you shall not turn yourself from one side to the other, until you have accomplished the days of your siege.
Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.
Coming to us and taking Paul’s belt, he bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘So the Jews at Jerusalem will bind the man who owns this belt, and will deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”
You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him.
But I have told you these things, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you about them. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.
Having found disciples, we stayed there seven days. These said to Paul through the Spirit that he should not go up to Jerusalem.
Then Paul answered, “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God. Or if we are of sober mind, it is for you.
Are they servants of Christ? (I speak as one beside himself.) I am more so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths often.
When Jehu came out to the servants of his lord, and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and how he talks.”
He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”
Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God’s word isn’t chained.

Buy the truth, and don’t sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.

Yes, truth is lacking; and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Yahweh saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.
“Yahweh has made you priest in the place of Jehoiada the priest, that there may be officers in Yahweh’s house, for every man who is crazy, and makes himself a prophet, that you should put him in the stocks and in shackles.
the men, and the women, and the children, and the king’s daughters, and every person who Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan; and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;
“Moreover lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it. According to the number of the days that you shall lie on it, you shall bear their iniquity.
The days of visitation have come. The days of reckoning have come. Israel will consider the prophet to be a fool, and the man who is inspired to be insane, because of the abundance of your sins, and because your hostility is great.
“Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake.
When his friends heard it, they went out to seize him; for they said, “He is insane.”
Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”
But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.
Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.
Go your ways. Behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.
for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’
You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.
I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
Most certainly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you don’t want to go.”
The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”
Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.”
For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.”
When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him,
But some Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there, and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
But when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas, and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers.
except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions wait for me.
Then the commanding officer came near, arrested him, commanded him to be bound with two chains, and inquired who he was and what he had done.
“I myself most certainly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor.
but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,
For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.
If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.
persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all.
For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “Don’t fear what they fear, neither be troubled.”
If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.
I John, your brother and partner with you in the oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in Christ Jesus, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God’s Word and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened, not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.
