Hebrew Text— Genesis 24:31He said, “Come in, you blessed of Yahweh. Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.”

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
that you will do us no harm, as we have not touched you, and as we have done to you nothing but good, and have sent you away in peace.’ You are now the blessed of Yahweh.”
You shall say, ‘Not only that, but behold, your servant, Jacob, is behind us.’ ” For, he said, “I will appease him with the present that goes before me, and afterward I will see his face. Perhaps he will accept me.”
He said, “You are blessed by Yahweh, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, because you didn’t follow young men, whether poor or rich.
But Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart.
And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
“The patriarchs, moved with jealousy against Joseph, sold him into Egypt. God was with him,
He blessed him, and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.

Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “May he be blessed by Yahweh, who has not abandoned his kindness to the living and to the dead.” Naomi said to her, “The man is a close relative to us, one of our near kinsmen.”
Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, and a container of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by David his son to Saul.
Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab’s anger burned against David, and he said, “Why have you come down? With whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and the naughtiness of your heart; for you have come down that you might see the battle.”
Now this present which your servant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.
I contended with them, and cursed them, and struck certain of them, and plucked off their hair, and made them swear by God, “You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, or for yourselves.
For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.
Blessed are you by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath.
because Yahweh of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
He said, “Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, please give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
He had possessions of flocks, possessions of herds, and a great household. The Philistines envied him.
They said to one another, “Behold, this dreamer comes.
Their father, Israel, said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: Take from the choice fruits of the land in your bags, and carry down a present for the man, a little balm, a little honey, spices and myrrh, nuts, and almonds;
“You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous.
He said to his mother, “The eleven hundred pieces of silver that were taken from you, about which you uttered a curse, and also spoke it in my ears—behold, the silver is with me. I took it.” His mother said, “May Yahweh bless my son!”
Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each of you to her mother’s house. May Yahweh deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me.
David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, “Blessed are you by Yahweh, that you have shown this kindness to your lord, even to Saul, and have buried him.
Lord, I beg you, let your ear be attentive now to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants, who delight to fear your name; and please prosper your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” Now I was cup bearer to the king.
A wicked man receives a bribe in secret, to pervert the ways of justice.
Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy?
“Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts much troubled me, and my face was changed in me; but I kept the matter in my heart.”
After they had spent some time there, they were sent back with greetings from the brothers to the apostles.
Abraham took sheep and cattle, and gave them to Abimelech. Those two made a covenant.
He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his loving kindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, Yahweh has led me on the way to the house of my master’s relatives.”
I came today to the spring, and said, ‘Yahweh, the God of my master Abraham, if now you do prosper my way which I go—
Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year one hundred times what he planted. Yahweh blessed him.
His brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, and they hated him, and couldn’t speak peaceably to him.
His brothers envied him, but his father kept this saying in mind.
He said, “Far be it from me that I should do so. The man in whose hand the cup is found, he will be my slave; but as for you, go up in peace to your father.”
“You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your God, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name.
‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.
‘Curse Meroz,’ said Yahweh’s angel. ‘Curse bitterly its inhabitants, because they didn’t come to help Yahweh, to help Yahweh against the mighty.’
Behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, “May Yahweh be with you.” They answered him, “May Yahweh bless you.”
The men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor bearer, and said, “Come up to us, and we will show you something!” Jonathan said to his armor bearer, “Come up after me; for Yahweh has delivered them into the hand of Israel.”
The men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
Then one of the people answered, and said, “Your father directly commanded the people with an oath, saying, ‘Cursed is the man who eats food today.’ ” So the people were faint.
Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, “You are blessed by Yahweh! I have performed the commandment of Yahweh.”
Saul said, “You are blessed by Yahweh; for you have had compassion on me.
Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves of bread, two containers of wine, five sheep ready dressed, five seahs of parched grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on donkeys.
Now therefore, please let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is so that Yahweh has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering. But if it is the children of men, they are cursed before Yahweh; for they have driven me out today that I shouldn’t cling to Yahweh’s inheritance, saying, ‘Go, serve other gods!’
When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a container of wine.
Don’t listen to Hezekiah.’ For the king of Assyria says, ‘Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and everyone of you eat from his own vine, and everyone from his own fig tree, and everyone drink water from his own cistern;
Salvation belongs to Yahweh. May your blessing be on your people.
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy and condemns Yahweh.
He sent from on high. He took me. He drew me out of many waters.
Be exalted, Yahweh, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.
Yahweh’s voice is powerful. Yahweh’s voice is full of majesty.
For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron, Yahweh’s saint.
My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
Our help is in Yahweh’s name, who made heaven and earth.
May Yahweh bless you from Zion, even he who made heaven and earth.
A bribe is a precious stone in the eyes of him who gives it; wherever he turns, he prospers.
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.
A brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city. Disputes are like the bars of a fortress.
Whoever robs his father or his mother and says, “It’s not wrong,” is a partner with a destroyer.
Your princes are rebellious and companions of thieves. Everyone loves bribes and follows after rewards. They don’t defend the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come to them.
“Cursed is he who does the work of Yahweh negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.
I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.’
Their hands are on that which is evil to do it diligently. The ruler and judge ask for a bribe; and the powerful man dictates the evil desire of his soul. Thus they conspire together.
Then he began to curse and to swear, “I don’t know the man!” Immediately the rooster crowed.
For he knew that because of envy they had delivered him up.
They kept this saying to themselves, questioning what the “rising from the dead” meant.
“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to the living God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;
For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh
If any man doesn’t love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be cursed. Come, Lord!
not rendering evil for evil, or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
for he who welcomes him participates in his evil deeds.
He said with a loud voice, “Fear the Lord, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and the springs of waters!”
