David said to him, “Your blood be on your head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have slain Yahweh’s anointed.’ ”
So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.
The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.

But some of the itinerant Jews, exorcists, took on themselves to invoke over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, “We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches.”
Surely there is no enchantment with Jacob; Neither is there any divination with Israel. Now it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, ‘What has God done!’
Though I am righteous, my own mouth will condemn me. Though I am blameless, it will prove me perverse.
When he is judged, let him come out guilty. Let his prayer be turned into sin.
If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”
and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing?’ He was speechless.
But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him, “I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.”
and crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don’t torment me.”
John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone who doesn’t follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow us.”
These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages;
John answered, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he doesn’t follow with us.”
He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?”
He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
Following Paul and us, she cried out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”
Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.
What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, “Cursed is everyone who doesn’t continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law?
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
whose mouths must be stopped: men who overthrow whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for dishonest gain’s sake.
To Adam he said, “Because you have listened to your wife’s voice, and ate from the tree, about which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ the ground is cursed for your sake. You will eat from it with much labor all the days of your life.
From now on, when you till the ground, it won’t yield its strength to you. You will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth.”
Behold, you have driven me out today from the surface of the ground. I will be hidden from your face, and I will be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth. Whoever finds me will kill me.”
The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
Judah acknowledged them, and said, “She is more righteous than I, because I didn’t give her to Shelah, my son.” He knew her again no more.
Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
In the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
Joshua commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, “Cursed is the man before Yahweh who rises up and builds this city Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn he will lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son he will set up its gates.”
Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen Yahweh yourselves, to serve him.” They said, “We are witnesses.”
He will keep the feet of his holy ones, but the wicked will be put to silence in darkness; for no man will prevail by strength.
The men of Israel were distressed that day; for Saul had adjured the people, saying, “Cursed is the man who eats any food until it is evening, and I am avenged of my enemies.” So none of the people tasted food.
Samuel said, “Then what does this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the cattle which I hear mean?”
Then king Solomon swore by Yahweh, saying, “God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.
The king sent and called for Shimei, and said to him, “Didn’t I adjure you by Yahweh, and warn you, saying, ‘Know for certain, that on the day you go out, and walk anywhere else, you shall surely die?’ You said to me, ‘The saying that I have heard is good.’
As your servant was busy here and there, he was gone.” The king of Israel said to him, “So shall your judgment be. You yourself have decided it.”
The king said to him, “How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”

Your own mouth condemns you, and not I. Yes, your own lips testify against you.
The steps of his strength will be shortened. His own counsel will cast him down.
“Do you think this to be your right, or do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s,’
Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified?
You asked, ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ therefore I have uttered that which I didn’t understand, things too wonderful for me, which I didn’t know.
Their own tongues shall ruin them. All who see them will shake their heads.
The words of a wise man’s mouth are gracious; but a fool is swallowed by his own lips.
You will mention the message from Yahweh no more: for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of Yahweh of Armies, our God.
The pride of Israel testifies to his face. Therefore Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their iniquity. Judah also will stumble with them.
But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’
Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them.
“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.
Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him about Jesus.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse.
You therefore who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach that a man shouldn’t steal, do you steal?
Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the revelations of God.
May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, “that you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment.”
Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
that no flesh should boast before God.
I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
knowing that such a one is perverted and sins, being self-condemned.
Let his children be wandering beggars. Let them be sought from their ruins.
Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night, and took nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.”
saying, “Didn’t we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood on us.”
that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of children.
forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.
