Who is she who looks out as the morning, beautiful as the moon, clear as the sun, and awesome as an army with banners?
How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.
He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.
Yahweh is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?
He brought me to the banquet hall. His banner over me is love.
Yahweh says: “Refrain your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears; for your work will be rewarded,” says Yahweh. “They will come again from the land of the enemy.
For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him go away unharmed? Therefore may Yahweh reward you good for that which you have done to me today.
But you be strong, and don’t let your hands be slack; for your work will be rewarded.”
Keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings,
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion, on the north sides, the city of the great King.
Be merciful to me, God, be merciful to me, for my soul takes refuge in you. Yes, in the shadow of your wings, I will take refuge, until disaster has passed.
I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.
By night on my bed, I sought him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him.
Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be disappointed. Those who depart from me will be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.
“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” He who hears, let him say, “Come!” He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.
After these things Yahweh’s word came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Don’t be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
Ruth said, “Don’t urge me to leave you, and to return from following you, for where you go, I will go; and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God.
Jeroboam’s wife arose and departed, and came to Tirzah. As she came to the threshold of the house, the child died.
Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
I have gone astray like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I don’t forget your commandments.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth; for your love is better than wine.
Your oils have a pleasing fragrance. Your name is oil poured out, therefore the virgins love you.
If you don’t know, most beautiful among women, follow the tracks of the sheep. Graze your young goats beside the shepherds’ tents.
I was asleep, but my heart was awake. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks: “Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled; for my head is filled with dew, and my hair with the dampness of the night.”
For I am Yahweh your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
Yahweh says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
I will strengthen them in Yahweh; and they will walk up and down in his name,” says Yahweh.
Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, “What are you looking for?” They said to him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), “where are you staying?”
He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.
Again therefore he asked them, “Who are you looking for?” They said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
They asked her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”
Many of them therefore believed; also of the prominent Greek women, and not a few men.
For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
Remember your leaders, men who spoke to you the word of God, and considering the results of their conduct, imitate their faith.
‘Have they not found, have they not divided the plunder? A lady, two ladies to every man; to Sisera a plunder of dyed garments, a plunder of dyed garments embroidered, of dyed garments embroidered on both sides, on the necks of the plunder?’
Don’t consider your servant a wicked woman; for I have been speaking out of the abundance of my complaint and my provocation.”
You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and their new wine are increased.
Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed; a high tower in times of trouble.
Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
Therefore Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.
The princess inside is all glorious. Her clothing is interwoven with gold.
We have thought about your loving kindness, God, in the middle of your temple.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines out.
Glorious things are spoken about you, city of God.
I run in the path of your commandments, for you have set my heart free.
I have compared you, my love, to a steed in Pharaoh’s chariots.
My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places of the mountainside, let me see your face. let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.
I will get up now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him.
How is your beloved better than another beloved, you fairest among women? How is your beloved better than another beloved, that you do so adjure us?
There are sixty queens, eighty concubines, and virgins without number.
House of Jacob, come, and let’s walk in the light of Yahweh.
I myself am Yahweh. Besides me, there is no savior.
Declare and present it. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has shown this from ancient time? Who has declared it of old? Haven’t I, Yahweh? There is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior. There is no one besides me.
For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no good looks or majesty. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
“Hey! Come, everyone who thirsts, to the waters! Come, he who has no money, buy, and eat! Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Yahweh appeared of old to me, saying, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving kindness.
All who found them have devoured them. Their adversaries said, ‘We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers.’
All that pass by clap their hands at you. They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, “Is this the city that men called ‘The perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth’?”
I drew them with cords of a man, with ties of love; and I was to them like those who lift up the yoke on their necks; and I bent down to him and I fed him.
Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods; but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.
Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
The angel answered the women, “Don’t be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified.
He said to them, “Don’t be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him!
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast.
And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went out, and said to them, “Who are you looking for?”
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden. In the garden was a new tomb in which no man had ever yet been laid.
Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?” She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”
Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers.
and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
You shall prepare wine for the drink offering, one fourth of a hin, with the burnt offering or for the sacrifice, for each lamb.
May Yahweh repay your work, and a full reward be given to you from Yahweh, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
She shall be led to the king in embroidered work. The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to you.
Take me away with you. Let’s hurry. The king has brought me into his rooms. We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will praise your love more than wine! They are right to love you.
As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
I opened to my beloved; but my beloved left, and had gone away. My heart went out when he spoke. I looked for him, but I didn’t find him. I called him, but he didn’t answer.
You are beautiful, my love, as Tirzah, lovely as Jerusalem, awesome as an army with banners.
You hope of Israel, its Savior in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?
But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall.
“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.
He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?
Some of them were persuaded and joined Paul and Silas, of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and not a few of the chief women.
These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.
